History is a story with many themes and motifs that weave throughout time. The three themes that I have seen this semester in United States History that reflect upon how these themes connect history to modern day, are racism, sexism, and classism. First one that reflects upon how these themes connect history to modern day is racism because in history, there was black codes in which was limiting civil rights and the beginning of segregation. As for the modern day, there's still racism going on with either the colored ones, Muslims, or the "illegal immigrants" who are Hispanics. Americans still treat them differently or judge them openly or silently. The second one that reflects upon how these themes connect history to modern day
