In the short story,”That Dumb Space Movie” by Lucie Britsch demonstrates the thematic tension of when something happens to somebody close or a colleague, to ponder about it and think of something that can fix it but can’t overpowers just forgetting about it and moving on accepting that something is wrong.
The story starts off with the narrator talking about how they had to wear their costumes to work because they were having a Halloween party that night. The boss, Kevin, calls the narrator into his office to ask her about the paper towel situation, and if they needed any. The narrator can’t stop staring at Kevin so he pulls out his scream mask and shows her. The narrator think that Kevin is supposed to be his because of his brown corduroy
