Their biological mother, Beth, had a rough past. She had been involved in prostitution, and she used drugs. She had been in jail a few times, but before the last time she got sentenced to prison, her mother had died. Beth was in a dark place--almost to the point where she just wanted to die--but when she went to prison this last time, she cleaned herself up and found God. Once she was released from jail, she got put into home. This home helped girls and tried to strengthen their relationship with God. Beth got back onto her feet while at the home.
