First, getting there wasn’t difficult due to I got a ride. I had to show my valid state-issued photo ID. Afterward, I entered a room in which I was searched from the top to the bottom, after that, I was told enter into another room, where a young woman was informing people sitting there the experience of the theater group.

They are incarcerated because they have done something wrong in their life. However, the young men had the courage and the ability to transform their personal life experience into musical scenes that are powerful voices to prevent to other young people do commit the same mistake.
This theater performance was a real portrayal of what is happening in many Chicagoans' disintegrated families. A situation that drives young men and women to be in the wrong place, meeting with wrong people that do not value the life of others and that are murdering innocent people. As a social worker, I felt sadness seeing those young men talking about their destroyed life. Would be possible to support them to be reinserted into the society?
The "Story Catchers Theater" is doing an incomparable job supporting the youth to release the anger, frustration, and traumas, through theater performances. It is a constant catharsis that helps young incarcerated people to try to change their lives. This performance has been an inspiration for my future job, to work with people that struggle with emotional problems, coming from a traumatic life
