The show that I chose to see was "Little Shops of Horror" at The PlayHouse in the Park. I have seen a lot of musicals over time, and I love seeing them, but when I saw this production I was wowed! Lets first talk about the area that the production took place. Playhouse in the Park is a small but homey theatre. Everywhere you look in the theatre is very close, and there is no bad seat at all. From Seymour Krelboyne, Audrey, to Audrey II. One thing that really caught my attention was how the plant kept growing. In the beginning of the production it was just a seed. Then the next next scene it was bigger, then bigger, then at the very last scene of the production it was the size of the entire stage. This plant was enormous!
From the sound to the lighting this makes up a big portion of a theatre production. In the Little shops of Horror they had a great music and the tones made you want to dance, but it was really loud. Almost as loud as if it was trying to cover up something, or maybe just because they wanted it to be. I do have to say that it was a little bit hard trying to hear the performers at certain parts of the performance. Lighting in PlayHouse in the Park is not hard to come by, because of the theatre being so small, but the lighting was great. When they needed the audience to focus on one person they put all of the lighting on them, and everything around them was pitch dark. The lighting in the production was
