My passion is acting, but I have yet to experience enough to be able to differentiate myself from others to directors. As such, I believe that this trip would benefit me in seeing how other actresses and theatre artists work in a professional setting. It would give me the opportunity to understand more of what it takes to work in this field, and to have a close up and more intimate perspective of the workings of theatre. I also believe that an experience such as this would help to motivate me and would encourage me as an individual in my acting career, to be able to see more experienced actors and artists in action. The Q & A with the theatrical agent could give me insight on how to get an agent and make me more accessible to finding jobs once I am out in the field. This would be very beneficial in helping me learn what I would need to know about how theatre works in the professional world, beyond the what the college experience alone is capable of providing. Another of the events that you have mentioned that I am excited about, is to see the professional theatre training company, and to observe its inner workings.
I know that there are only a few available positions available for this educational experience and therefore not everyone interested will be able to share in this opportunity.
