The fact that the child drew the family, and said this is “our family” with white skin along with the typical Canadian stereotype shows how there is a lack of cultural awareness in Canadian elementary schools. The child did not even realise that this was not how her family looked until after the fact that her mother reacted to it and she noticed the diversity in class. Through this the author shows that with education and awareness of uniqueness, children are capable of acknowledging and accepting differences.…

My observation is that she continues to do well in language arts because of the activities I do with her to improve her literacy skills. Tom is struggling with paying attention in class and his cognitive load capacity is lower than other children his age. On the other hand, Max has poor executive functioning skills and struggles to plan and organise himself. The information processing theory may be able to explain why Max and Tom are doing poorly at school. Cognitive development is the construction of thought processes, including remembering, problem solving, and decision-making, from childhood through adolescence to adulthood (healthofchildren). From the age of 2 to 11 children are constantly discovering new things about themselves and their body, whether it be walking, talking or experiencing puberty. The stage between toddler and preteen is extreme, with this in mind, I chose to focus between these ages and observe…

From observing Haylee and how she feels about herself and her ability to do well in school, Jerica has sensed both feelings of inferiority and industry from Haylee. Many times, Jerica has observed Haylee’s lack of confidence in herself. With the assistance of educators and caregivers, I believe A.B can excel in all of the domains including where she may still need a little work on. To ensure that A.B has an opportunity to enhance her development, I believe that implementing activities and lesson plans would boost her encouragement to accomplish the skills. To refer back to my study, a skill that A.B seems to fall short of is the use of scissors and glue. As A.B is in the beginning process of being introduced to scissors, it is okay that she does not master the skill right away.…
