The Zombie Apocalypse can be described as a war on civilization and humanity. Zombies, which are referred to as Walkers on The Walking Dead, are re-animated corpses that walk the earth in search of food, which is typically human flesh. Anyone who dies (bitten or not), will become a Walker themselves. Those living amongst the Walkers must learn to defend themselves against, even the children. For the most part, the Walkers are unpredictable and are not necessarily organized in their search for human flesh. They simply wander around aimlessly until they come across someone to eat. The children in this war experience violence on a level that is difficult for them to comprehend, and they must now learn to think about survival rather than relying …show more content…
I love watching him evolve due to all that he endures with each season of the show. He has experienced more trauma than most kids his age, which has changed him from that innocent little boy who idolized his father as we saw in the first season, to one of the best Walker killers and protectors in his camp. This can certainly be attributed to the traumas he has faced since the outbreak began. “The psychological and developmental well-being of boys and girls of all ages may be profoundly affected by a range of conflict-related events, including: the violent death of a parent or close relative; separation from family; witnessing loved ones being killed or tortured; displacement from home and community; exposure to combat, shelling and other life-threatening situations; acts of abuse such as being abducted, arrested, held in detention, raped, tortured; disruption of school routines and community life; destitution and an uncertain future” (Fernando and Ferrari 40). It’s typical for children who are exposed to traumatic situations to become angry, withdrawn, and distrusting of adults. Carl became this way towards his father and ultimately loses respect for him. He no longer had any confidence that Rick could protect him or the rest of the group. He instead relies on himself to protect all of them and didn’t feel he needed his father anymore. According to a United Nations study on children in war by Graca Machel, "The physical, sexual and emotional violence to which they [children] are exposed shatters their world. War undermines the very foundations of children 's lives, destroying their homes, splintering their communities and breaking down their trust in adults” (Muller). This perfectly explains the changes in Carl throughout the

In a society where the citizens believe a group effort throughout daily life is best, chaos and loss of individuality often, and almost always occur. When there is individuality present, people are able to express their singular beliefs and ideas, which leads to success and prosperity, which could not be attained without said individuality. In both The Walking Dead and Harrison Bergeron, the presence of individual dependence is shown in more than one way, this is more superior to group equality, as when you try to make everyone equal, in perspective nobody is equal. The Presence of singular control, or individuality is more superior than the total undeniable equality of everyone.…

Before outlining our proposed strategies for surviving the zombie apocalypse, we first need to discuss zombie physiology: what physical and mental constraints and capabilities they have, what assumptions we can make about their nature, how they perceive their surroundings, and, most importantly, what can kill them. Starting at the top of the handout, we know that zombies “do not require food, water, or air,” and they “do not feel pain, fear, or empathy.” These two statements combine together to form an important conclusion: zombies will be indomitable assailants that lack many of the weaknesses that the surviving…

There are several legends or just stories regarding monsters that we have known since we were children and they have frightened us since we were young into our early teenage years. But if we really think about it, what might these monsters represent or why do we even have monsters. Authors attempted to look into the world of monsters more and attempt to identify more of what the monsters could symbolize or what they can represent regarding us, humankind. In other words, the authors explain their perspectives on how do monsters and their existence affect us, how do they represent what we are here for and more. Using the articles “My Zombie, Myself: Why Modern Life Feels Rather Undead,” “Cursed by a Bite,” and “Monsters and Messiahs” I will help…

No offense to film critics, but it doesn 't take a genius to tell a good movie apart from a waste of time you 'll never get back. Motion picture films date back to the late 1800s, each film different from the last. However, that doesn 't mean everything that makes it onto a theatre is worth viewing. There are certain components that make a great film and can be proven true throughout all genres no matter when they premiered. Now, I 've seen my fair share of films and have come to the conclusion that a film worthwhile is one that is able to attract the audiences with familiar sense of prevalence that is able to leave an impression and invites you to watch it over and over again.…
