My research paper was about Queen Mary Tudor, also known as Bloody Mary, and how she influenced her era. I got to choose the topic I wanted to write. I feel that teachers should almost always let students have some choice in picking their topic. In the book McKeachie 's teaching tips, it states that if teachers allow students to pick their own topics for writing then they would be more motivated to write. Her father was a famous king known for divorcing and beheading his wives. Mary was also the older sister of Queen Elizabeth I of England. When Mary ruled, she was Catholic queen in who is famously known as older sister of Elizabeth I and for murdering her non-catholic subjects (Ketter) . I decided to write about her because I felt that she was remembered for murdering others and not for her struggles throughout life that lead her to be who she was.
