Defarge is more soft than Mme. Defarge. Mme. Defarge is a cold woman. She even has meetings without her husband because she herself says that he is “weak.” I wouldn’t say weak but I would say that he has more of a soft side to her. If I were to compare Mr. & Mrs. Defarge to anyone nowadays, I would say that Mrs. Defarge is Donald and Melania Trump. The irony is quite funny because I’m not comparing the couple to someone poor. I’m comparing M. and Mme. Defarge to Donald and Melania Trump because of their personality. In interviews that Donald does with his wife Melania, he almost seems annoyed by her, maybe because her English isn’t too good but he seems like he just wants her to spit out whatever she’s saying. At first, when I read the third question to this book report, I had no idea what I was going to say. As I was watching videos on Yahoo! News and I came across this video of Donald and Melania, I thought “WOW, Donald is Mme. Defarge and Melania is M. Defarge!” Melania seems a lot more quiet and she agrees with everhting that Donald says and well, it may actually look like Melania is the weak one. As to support my comparison of Donald Trump and Mme. Defarge, they are both heartless. It was confusing me a little when it went back and forth from one city to another but at the end, what’s important is that I understood it and it taught me a lesson. I know that a lot of people think at the end of this book about how foolish it was for Sydney Carton to do what he did. I thought it was brave on the contrary, and I also think that it taught me a thing or two on loyalty.
