This example makes me think that if I was someone in the United States during the Second World War, I would think that Germany had a very good chance at winning the war and becoming the strongest country in the world. I would think this because they not only advanced in mechanization, but also started a revolution in that field, but they fell short because only a few divisions were motorized, unlike the French and British who were much more motorized during the time. One reason why I would think as an American that Germany would win is because it seemed like Germany was taking a huge offensive strike against their many enemies, and this would be a reasonable plan because Hitler’s main objective besides riding the world of Jews was the fact that he wanted to create the Lebensraum. I would think that Germany would have some sort of plan to catch up and annihilate the British and any other country that would get in the Germans way. Because of the victories in both Denmark and Norway I would think that Germany has a secret plan to take over more land, and become stronger as the war went on because of the territory they were taking, which would mean more “Germans” would join the war as a result of default. Furthermore, since this is before the Vietnam War or what many historians like to call it the television war I would assume that the news of any country loosing or winning the war would not get to the American public for weeks or possibly months at a time.
