Miss Strangeworth always thought she was better than everyone because she felt like she was in charge since her family practically built the town. Since her family was a big part of the town, she believes she should have a big role as well, which is anonymously controlling the people around her. Dee thought she was better because she believed she would be more fit to have the quilts rather than her mom and sister. Dee wants the quilts to represent her heritage and doesn’t give one thought to why her sister would want it because she thinks she is better than her. Miss Strangeworth is very hypocritical, for instance when she goes to the store she greets everyone and has little conversations because she knows everyone. Miss Strangeworth seems like such a kind and caring person that you would never suspect her to write those cruel letters. Unlike Miss Strangeworth Dee is a little more straightforward and lets you know who she is upfront, like when she got angry with her mother for not handing over the quilts when she asked for it. Dee doesn’t care what her family thinks she just wants what she believes should belong to her and she tells them this by expressing her feelings. Miss Strangeworth and Dee are both conceited because they think they are better but Miss Strangeworth isn’t as revealing as Dee
