(1)Most movies that I’ve seen that were based on a real story bored me to death, mainly because there was no big dramatic scene of teen drama or fighting. I like dreamy romantic movies that capture your imagination and vigorously strive to meet popular demand. But once I saw the Walt Disney film, Secretariat my mind completely changed, Secretariat opened up my eyes to the history of our world and the horse racing industry.

She is very resilient as every time someone knocks her down, she gets right back up again, such as when Secretariat doesn 't win his first race. She 's upset and confused although she keeps the peace and strives to make him better. She goes out and finds a more experienced jockey and meets with Ron Turcotte at a small cafe
“I’ve spoken to the owners you ride for, they say you’re one of the best you got a great touch with young horses, you can be over aggressive, use bad judgement and put a horse into too much traffic where he can 't run… I don 't want somebody else; I want you.”
She is such a resilient, caring person who always persists when something doesn 't go her way.
(7)Secretariat also portrays her as a very serious horse lover that makes sure Secretariat gets the best care and training from the best trainers. She goes to a gentlemen’s only club to talk with Lucien Laurin about training Secretariat after she fired Earl Jansen, the original trainer. Laurin is seen swinging a golf club, half listening to Chenery as she says,
“I’m in a bit of a tight spot. I wonder if you might try it for a few months and see how things work out.” She is so determined and doesn 't take no for an answer. She persists and tried many tactics to get Laurin to train …show more content…
She has been shown to care about others and is always friendly towards the horses and people. This gained her the trust and respect by the industry. She was honoured with an award by the thoroughbred club in 2012. During the award ceremony, Mrs. Cauthen said, “I believe our directors have made an exemplary addition… Mrs. Chenery’s stewardship of Secretariat’s ongoing legacy and her other services to racing fit this mould very admirably.” (u.k. 2015) Cheney finally had the respect of the racing industry.
(10)She is also seen to be humorous such as in 1973 at the Belmont Stakes; a reporter interviews Penny. “You are confident I 'm sure?” as she replies with “No, I’m scared to death” (YouTube, 2015). She is very humble and down to earth. The winning streaks didn’t stop her from being grounded.
