This year’s forces class with Mr. Inzer has been a fun class, but also a hard one. Throughout the year, we talked about the forces that shaped the past world and the modern world today. Overall, it has been a good year in that I made good memories with my fellow classmates and improved my knowledge from this class.
We learned many forces that influenced our world throughout the year. In the fall, we focused on the forces between 1400’s and 1800’s that helped many regions of the world to become economically independent. The major ones were The Columbian Exchange, The Renaissance, The Reformation, The Scientific Revolution, and The Enlightenment. Before the war, Europe was the center of the world. Many European countries had leading economies, their governments were the most advanced, and in general, all the superpowers in the world before the World War 2 were in Europe, such as England, France, Italy, and Spain. However, after World War 2, Europe was impoverished. Many European countries’ economies were destroyed, its cities were in ruins, and many people died or became homeless. Thus, Europe was a disaster after the war. As a result, the European countries lost the role of leading the world’s economy and the U.S took their place instead. World War 2 clearly showed that a war could easily destroy the leading countries in the world. That is why I think the World War 2 had the most impact to me since it changed the world’s leading country in just six years. For that reason, then, I believe that the World War 2 also had the most important role in creating the modern world. Today, the U.S is the number one superpower that influences every country in the world and it is probable that without World War 2, the U.S would not have been able to become a superpower like it is today. Before this class, I was not a good writer. Last year, my essays were one of the worst in class due to my unfamiliarity with the language for being a foreign student. I improved throughout the year, but there were a lot of rooms to improve further on. This year, my first paper was not bad, but it definitely was not flawless. My wordings were weird, I had too much information in one paragraph, and my topic sentences were not connected to my thesis. However, after listening to Mr. Inzer’s feedbacks over the year, I clearly improved. Now, I know the importance of having a clear thesis and topic sentences, I learned not to cram too much information in one paragraph, and I learned that editing the paper after it’s written is essential. I am still not perfect, but I can undoubtedly tell that I’m a better writer now than I was in the beginning of the year. Therefore, I would like to say thank you to you, Mr. Inzer, for giving me good memories and I don’t think there is anything you should change to improve the class. I hope you have a wonderful summer, and I hope to see you often next year. Thank you
