Working in the same clinic for fifteen years, there are many different departments that make a clinic. All of the departments have many important duties to make the rest of the department run smoothly. In clinics, there are my many different departments that are needed. All of the departments that make up a clinic or any doctors office are important. It’s always a good sign when all of the staff works well together. Communication is a very important factor. We all have to work together and when this happens there is a smooth work flow. These departments work very closely all day long. The most important departments of a medical clinic are medical records, receptionist, medical staff and triage. Medical records is another department that is a strong department. Triage is when a patient calls in and they need some sort of medical advice. This only okay to give advice when the person is calling is a current patient. The reason is there has to be documentation for any advice that is given to the patient. The patients would ask for medical advice, prescriptions refills or prescription authorizations. When the patient calls in for medical advice everything needs to be documented in the patient 's chart. Medical advice can be anything such as follow up ER visits, simple questions, or same-day appointment can be put in at this time. At times, this can be very busy. We can predict when it’s going to be a busy day in triage. The most peak times, are when it Friday afternoon before the weekend or a holiday. The management tries to have a full staff because this can be overwhelming at times. I can say at the end of the day, I feel great about my job because I feel like I’ve helped people that
