Woman are more likely to be the primary one taking care of the children if her and her husband get a divorce (Ferris, Kerry, and Jill Stein, 252). It would be extremely difficult for anyone to support their children on their own; however, with women making less, it becomes that much more difficult for the mother to reasonably support her children and herself. This leads to the term feminization of poverty, “the economic trend that women are more likely than men to live in poverty” (Ferris, Kerry, and Jill Stein, 255). No one should be punished due to their biological makeup.
