To measure Richard comprehension a Readwork passage was selected for Richard to read and measure his response. The passage was at a 1st grade level “A Special Spider”. Richard read the passage independently and answered the questions. Out of the 4 multiple choice questions Richards received 3 of the response correct. The 2 written response Richard answered, Richard was able to refer to the passage to answer both questions. When it came to the discussion of the critically think differences with the main topic of the wolf spider, Richard was not able to verbally answer the question. Based on Richard performance on comprehension, it can be determine that reading at a 1st grade reading level he is able to understand what he is reading when answering
