The Wizard of Oz is a well-known, 1939 American film. The iconic movie is based on the popular novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. This motion picture was produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The film is famous for its use of Technicolor, music, and the fantasy illusion created with the memorable characters. The Wizard of Oz was nominated for six Academy Awards; It won in two categories, which included Best Original Score and Best Original Song for "Over the Rainbow." The Wizard of Oz became one of the best-known films in movie history. This movie was also named the most-viewed motion picture on television by the Library of Congress. Frank Nugent rated the film a "delightful piece of wonder-working which had the youngsters ' eyes shining and brought a quietly amused gleam to the wiser ones of the oldsters. Not since Disney 's Snow White has anything quite so fantastic succeeded half so well.” At the beginning of this film, it shows Dorothy with her dog Toto in grey Kansas on the farm of her Uncle Henry and Aunt Em. Toto bites the neighbor, Miss Gulch, so she receives a sheriff’s order to have Toto euthanized. She removes the dog from Dorothy’s hands to take him away, but Toto returns to Dorothy. Dorothy plans to run away with the fear that Miss Gulch will return to finish the deed. Dorothy and Toto meet Professor Marvel, a fake medium who convinces Dorothy to return home by tricking her into thinking her Aunt Em is sick. A huge tornado strikes the farm as…
