Macbeth Research Paper Do the witches (or weird sisters) control the events on the play? Why or Why not? I don’t think the weird sister’s control the events in the events in the play. Even though they were wrong in telling the future when weren,t supposed to. But I don’t think they control the events in the play. If anything I think Macbeth controls the events in the play. The witches are responsible for planting the idea of becoming king into Macbeth’s head. In their first meeting with Macbeth! “Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor! Third witch- All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!”

“The witches represent evil in the sense that they act as physical agents of temptation. We are surrounded by temptation; we choose whether to resist it or give in to it, based on our characters and values.
