The Witch Of Morpheus: A Short Story

Superior Essays
Ophelia, AKA the Witch of Morpheus, sat at a makeshift table, playing at eating her dinner as she contemplated all that had happened since the night she found herself on Morpheus, naked in a bed with a man she didn't even know. A shiver ran done her spine when she remembered how the feeling of unrealness had come over her and nearly destroyed her. She had fought against it and won the battle for reality that first night. The constant fear that the unreality would come back to claim her haunted her for months, but now she felt certain that she was firmly anchored in the real world. Ophelia remembered her encounter with her twin and the unreasoning fear she had felt and wondered why she felt it still.

Ophelia said, “Doyle there's a couple of enforcers outside, Mr. Donkey says they're just standing there.”
Doyle picked up his weapon and said, “Wait here Ophelia, I'll see what they have to say.”
Doyle stormed out and saw an enforcer and another being standing beside him. It was female, but Doyle was unsure whether she was the same species as the enforcer or not. She had a lot of the same characteristics as the enforcer, but she was as beautiful as the enforcer was ugly. They were standing there with their claws outstretched, palms upwards.
Doyle addressed his comments to the male, “What are you doing here enforcer? You know what happens to your kind when they arrive uninvited.”
The enforcer said, “How do we get an invitation? We really need to talk to the Witch of Morpheus.”
Ophelia's voice came from behind Doyle, “What do you want to talk to me about? It better be good, I'm still really pissed about the damage that was done to my trees.”
Doyle rolled his eyes, but said nothing, he should have known she wouldn't stay put. The enforcer in front of them quivered with fear, but he summoned up his courage and spoke. “Forgive us for disturbing you, your Witchiness, but we're here to make

A villain’s portrayal plays a big role in detective fiction. In The Big Sleep, Carmen and Vivian play important roles that differ from the typical representation of villains. Through years of enduring equality between men and women, it can be seen that women are finally able to prove that they have the capability and power just as much as men. An example shown in the film can be seen where Carmen is described as a femme fatale. She has two faces, one where she acts, as an innocent child while the other is a cold-blooded murderer.…
