Great discussion. To be honest, I was kind of hesitant at first on what to expect based on the forum title and was rather surprised by discussion. I guess most is based on personal interpretation, but especially in The Wife of Bath's Tale, I thought the female characters had a great role in the outcome. I understand that they are not the primary roles, but I do think that it shows the beginning of the shift in culture. As Kate stated, in such stories the women may not be the primary roles , but are the catalyst in some. In this case, the Queen’s decision is what saved the Knight. I would have to agree with the rest of your post as most of the works during the time were focused on the different male traits and characteristics
