Most fairy tales take place in medieval times when royalty was present. Most people believed in magic and so called fairies, but most people would drink a lot, so it was pretty believable. The time period in which this tale took place is very important because it is similar to a fairy tale. Royalty was big back in the medieval times. Briton was ruled by King Arthur and Queen Guinevere. Just like every fairy tale, King Arthur had knights that would protect him. In most fairy tales, there is a king or a queen that rules over everyone, they could either be good or bad, in this case they were good. Another similarity is the "Wife of Bath's Tale", had knights. In this tale, the knight was not a very liked person. In fairy tales, you all ways have at least one bad character. But as the story continues the knight faces a hard challenge, if he fails he is to be killed. In most fairy tales, there is either a problem at hand or there is a very strong point made in the short tale. In the "Wife of Bath's Tale", Chaucer makes a very good point which just about every woman could agree
