One of the major things that she loved about marriage is the fact that you could go up in society by marrying someone wealthy or someone in a higher class. This is a very good point with her in the fact that someone can come from poverty and have a better life once they marry a wealthy man. I believe this might be a major key of why she is so materialistic in her first three marriages because she wasn’t accustomed to not having all of these things so therefore she always wanted more. She was very critical of every situation and also wanted more so her husbands would be so busy trying to make her happy with material things that they wouldn’t have time to think about any other woman but her.

She is accepted because of how honest and blunt she is with her beliefs, whether they are welcomed or not. She has very unusual opinions on marriage. She believes that women should always be in control of the marriage and everything that goes on within it, she believes it is okay to use the men she had married to gain higher social status or to gain materialistic things. She also believes that men should be cautious to marry a woman because of that fact, but women should try to get everything out of it that they could get. This makes her a very interesting character to me because she goes by her own beliefs and doesn’t go with the standards of
