The White Rose reminded that not every German was a coward, murderer, or blind to the fascist Nazi Regime. This brave group of young adults exhibited bravery when there was seemingly none. In the time the resistance was publishing leaflets and their death, a friend of Hans took the responsibility and started similar group in Berlin. A group of students in Freiburg, inspired by the valor of the ensemble, also became active. Later, a female student carried a leaflet to Hamburg where yet another group became active.
