I successfully lost about 25 kilograms weight during three month at 2014. And I considered this as my greatest accomplishment so far. I made up my mind to keep healthy and on diet at August, 2014. I was closely 100 kg at that time. After three month exerted myself, I finally get my weight down to 75 kg. It was very hard to fight a constant battle with my weight. I tried few times to lose weight before but I failed. I assume that majority of people had the same experience with me. When you say you want to control weight, it means you have to change your lifestyle completely and hold on consistently and persistently. The weight is easily regained once you give up, and you will become even fatter than ever. Thus, only a few of people can successfully …show more content…
I learned that only effective method to lose weight is take in fewer calories and burn more calories. Most of diets and quick weight-loss plans don 't work as promised. I had to be persistent. My plan was consist of three stages. Each stages took 30 days. The first stage was on diet. I can only eat vegetables, fruit, and essential vitamins for the first 30 days. At first, I thought I was fully prepared this time. Based on health behaviors research, choices of health are dependent on self-efficacy. Self-efficacy can determine the effort expand and the sustainable of facing obstacles and failures. And self-efficacy will also influence the easiness of goal. I strongly believed my ability to get through first stage. However, I did not overestimated my determination as I used to be. I was starving to death when I suddenly became vegetarian. I even woke up in the middle of night at the first week. I was very weak and felt dizzy for the most of time. I surprisingly did not give up and started to feel better after three days. I lowered the expectation of weight loss at third stage. Meanwhile, both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation worked ineffectively. I could not persuaded myself to operate my plan without hesitation. And I easily give up since I planned to do fitness and body building exercises. In order to promote muscle, I have had to eat high protein foods such as steak, fish, and chicken breast. After two month fully vegetarian, I cannot resisted those foods. Therefore, the weight loss began slowly. I only lost 5 kg at the end of third stage. Fortunately, I made my body fat ratio down to 20% and kept it till now.
In conclusion, the special experience with losing weight made me get more familiar with myself. The plan was initially to cope with my health issue and then became spiritual of motivation issue. I experienced emotional changes from high self-efficacy to low self-motivation which I had not noticed until today. In the future, I will be more confidence while setting and accomplishing
