Angelia, right off the bat, says, “Teamwork is not easy.” As most people known from their own experiences, this is very true. Mary later goes on in the webinar to discuss three fatal mistakes people make when forming teams. Her three fatal mistakes are that we assemble people who are just like us, we don’t set up a foundation to do the work, and we don’t set up and accountability structure. Mary covered some very good points throughout the webinar. One thing that I would like to say about the webinar as a whole is that not everyone will be cooperative in team activities. She talked about “nasty team members” very briefly. I felt like this should have been talked about a little bit more because I do not believe that there is a perfect team out there. You aren’t going to always have the perfect diversity, people, or tasks at hand in order for teams to be super successful. There are always going to be flaws. I also think it could have been beneficial to talk about what to do if team conflict does occur. She reinforced what we should do when we get a team, but in reality I feel like there is almost always going to be conflict that arises. This webinar was a very interesting one to listen to. Mary laid out a lot of information on how to build a successful team. This fits in with any management class because as managers we need to learn how to work with others as best as we can. Team work is never easy but if we listen to Mary’s advice, we can learn how to build some pretty great
