The Weakness Of Correlation Research Method

The research methods used to accumulate the date which served the basis for The Happiness of Pursuit article is descriptive research method and correlations research method. The article was resented with case studies, survey methods, and naturalistic observation. The article strength it was able to present the different causes and factors of happiness, negative and positive outlook, and behaviors associated to happiness. This weakness of the article it do not enable researchers to make accurate predictions or determine cause and effect. It basically describes the situation. Correlations measure the strength of relationships between two variables. For example the article stated, "people who dwell on the past or future are less likely to be happy than people who concentrate on the present" or "worker making $150,000 are twice as likely to say they're very happy as people making $20,000 or less." Strengths of correlation research method are that a large number of individuals can be researched and the answer provided to the surveys will be relevant to the research. Money cannot cause happiness and it is your fault if you are not having fun.
