Angolan Cultural Values

From a long time, Angolan has had a very distinct culture. Our society carries a big number of norms, values, rules, and habits that are shared by almost every people among the Angolan society. A few of our cultural values have been lost, but most of them still alive among the society. One particular value that I will be focused on is the way a man should treat a women regardless any difference between them. I chose it because our society is structured in way that men have advantages in many different ways that women. Even though men carry few advantages over women, in Angola most of the families teach their sons to treat women respectfully. The same idea that I have discussed on my last point, applies to the idea of showing respect to older people. I was the youngest child in my family, so it was very important for my parents to teach me that I have to show respect to people older than me. They even told me that sometimes I had to be submissive to people older than me regardless the situation or their position in society, as a way to show respect and implement the values they taught me. I the beginning, I showed a little resistance putting in practice this value because I had friends and classmates that always never showed respect to older people. During my time in elementary, I used to see many of my classmates showing no respect to older people just because they had an inferior job as the teacher and officer workers. This behavior that my classmates showed was influencing me to resist the values that I was being taught at home. I even started to behave like my classmates for a short amount of time, but my parents became mad at me and told me that if I did not stop to behave like this they would send me to another school. At my school, the children used to make fun on workers that used to clean the school and the securities because they saw them as inferior to them. I had a friend at the middle school, and one day she
