1) Discuss the roles of the tradition and individual talent (artists) using this passage from Eliot's essay Tradition and Individual Talent: “…the past should be altered by the present as much as the present is directed by the past.” T.S. Eliot’s Traditional and Individual Talent, briefs readers about his critical assessment on the concept of poems as the poet’s way of expressing his or her personality through a long essay.

is an example of a literary work because its meaning is restricted by genre, author, and linearity. The reader is not able to actively engage in the production of this text, hence, the act of reading is an act of consumption and the work is a commodity.
The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot is an example of a text because the person who reads is not constrained by linearity and hierarchy, therefore, the reader can actively produce the text. It is only when the reader tries to read this text as a traditional work that it is commodified and consequently becomes incomprehensible or dragging.
5) What is a Classic? Discuss the various issues on classifying a work as a 'classic'. I am fond of re-watching a certain set of movies which I call “The Classics.” Although, it did not bother my mind, what do I really mean by that? Movies White Chicks, Mean Girls and She’s The Man are part of “The Classics” set just because they do not lose their appeal to viewers.
Similarly, music of Pussycat Dolls, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, etc. experienced obsolete phases but listening to their songs again made me feel that their songs are part of “The Classics” because it still gets me up ‘til now. Pop songs today made me miss RnB and mellow songs, which are unparalleled to the music we have
