In 1971, President Nixon declared that drug abuse was "public enemy number one" and issued The War on Drugs. The World Drug Report 2014 states that the War on Drugs was used to reduce the illegal drug trade by issuing out policies to ‘help’ stop the production, distribution, and consumption of drugs, in order to prevent new addicts and rehabilitate those who were addicts (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime). Therefore, when the War on Drugs began in the seventies, based off the easy availability of drugs and profits to be made off them in poor communities, minorities took the chance to escape poverty. Since the drugs were placed specifically in black communities, high policing followed the drugs, leading to the mass incarceration of blacks; destroying their communities. In order to completely solve, this problem of the school to prison pipeline, minorities in general need to stop fighting each other and realize the real enemy is the capitalistic system, the European males have created. If they are able to stand strong with one another, then they can overrule the system and create justice for
