In the year of 1962, during the time of the Cold War, in which the Northern countries started falling to communism. Vietnam was in a difficult situation in which North Vietnam And South Vietnam had been divided from each other, due to their different economic stances. America had sent their military forces to South Vietnam to protect it from being over run by communism, and they called to Australia for assistance.

Australia had a close relationship with the U.S. After dealing with the atrocities of World War 2, Australia did not soon forget America 's assistance during that time. Australia perceived sending troops to Vietnam as a way to some-what repay America and keep their alliance in tact. Also, to ensure that America would come to Australia 's aid if Communism eventually came to our shores. So Australia decided to assist America with the ongoing struggles of the Cold War.

The Cold War is the name people use to describe the conflict involving the U.S. (and those allied with it), and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, also known as the USSR. However, It was depicted as a Cold War as America and Russia never actually fought together themselves.
The Cold War was mainly Capitalist countries versus Communism. Capitalist countries mainly consisted of; Canada, France, Britain, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Portugal, Greece, and Italy. These countries formed NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation). The USSR countries mainly contained Russia, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia,…
