The Walking Dead Viewersship Analysis

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” viewership is declining as the viewers may not be interested with the split-off story telling strategy of the series. It is seen with the viewers who took the social media in dismay to the series.
“The Walking Dead” cliff-hanger from season six was a success as seen with the season seven premiere which gained 17.1 million of viewership. But, the peak viewership did not last with how the show tells the story for this season.
The previous episode of “The Walking Dead” gave shining moment for the character of Tara played by Alanna Masterson. She was separated from Heath and washed up to a shore line and was rescued by Cindy. She brought Tara to a secret camp whose all survivors were women. The series is known to have shared pieces of story seamlessly connected to every episode that will make viewers watch more. Now, with the pacing and the split-off story telling it makes each episode dull and boring which will eventually lead viewers not to want more.
According to Forbes, the declining viewership of “The Walking Dead” is an indication that the fans are no longer happy with how the story goes. If to consider, the fans still can’t process that the original casts of the show are no longer there especially if they made a connection of themselves to a specific character.
Meanwhile, the producers of “The Walking Dead” may consider of ending the show up to season eight for a final episode. The declining of viewership could only mean that the viewers are tired with the circles of the story and want to know how everything will go to end.
