Biblical Worldview Essay “Belief” is detrimental to the vocation of being an educator and serving in the image of God. Believing in what you do as a teacher takes trust, faith confidence and resilience. God created man in His own image and He expects us to treat others with dignity, respect and compassion while having no bias. This includes what others may or may not look like, what they have or do not have or any physical or mental disabilities. We are to be servants of God as Jesus was; we are to give guidance in our vocational callings, tasks and occupations as true Christians as we are called upon. I was not a child with learning disabilities; I was a child who was in need of someone who would take the time to show me how to process the information being taught and not be ignored because my process time was not as quick as other students. This is the reason why deciding to be an educator has always been important to my life. Giving a child what I did not get in school is a valuable tool to my heart and my soul. Math is still a challenge as a college student and I struggle with insecurities in this subject. The effect that this has had on my life is the reason I choose to help students who feel left behind and give the help they deserve to be successful. “Let people learn to devote themselves to good works in order to meet urgent needs, so that they may not be unproductive” (Titus 3: 14, ESV).
