The “culture of silence,” well this is an example of how the courts see the violence in marriage, yet it’s like saying what happens behind those close doors are no one else’s business. When laws are inadequate and justice is unreliable the intention that police are there to protect spin when they accuse the victim of initiating the rape. The laws remained intact for years until the rape of Jyoti Singh brought protest and the government decide to update and enforce it immediately. These anti-rape laws are beneficial for those repeat offenders who continue to rape and despite prison not helping they are then sentenced to death. The laws became stricter in punishing public officials who violate laws knowingly and continue to disobey committing such crimes. The results of these upgrades are irrelevant when society itself needs to be changed and given a taste of women rights. The Criminal Law Amendment Act of 2013 is unreliable and focuses only on those repeat offenders or those who commit acid attacks or stalking. There are groups who took it into their own account to help these women they created patrols of girls where they protect fellow women from the dangers of men and educate boys on how to treat women appropriately. These groups and possibly Rape Crisis Centers to help those already victims of rape can help educate children of how there surrounding are important and to be alert on a daily basis can help prevent such rapes. When so many rapes occur daily the focus should start with those who are
