It begins to feel like the world is over.The family suffers a lot having to realize that their loved one is not coming back and is in a better place. Sometimes it can feel like the loss was never suppose to happen and wish they can come back; many families are never the same when losing a loved one because of gang violence. It can be even harder on children because they have to grow up without a mother, father, brother, sister, etc due to gang violence. Families are helped through their grieving process through a community. Seeking comfort and support through the community was a way to go through their loss. According to “The Daily Beast”, a massacre happened in Newtown, Connecticut killing many innocent children and parents. Families speak out on how their community help to overcome their loss that they would never gain back. Another example of families losing a loved one happened with an innocent little girl celebrating her birthday when shot by a single bullet between a gunfight with two rival gang members; the little girl’s aunt speaks out about how it was not fair for the little girl, an innocent bystander just celebrating her birthday died. Families of victims have to face many obstacles after losing a loved one to gang violence. They have to struggle with the fact that their loved one is no longer there and as well as deal with the way their loved one had died. In many cases the
