I remember in kindergarten when the whole class had story time and we would all listen in on what the teacher was reading. The emotion and unique voices that our teacher would use made it seem like the story within that gigantic book came to life. A distinct book that will always stick with me would be The Very Hungry Caterpillar because of the sheer description and imagination it gave children at the time. One was lured in as the caterpillar ate on Monday, then on Tuesday and so on. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone which to this day is one of the most enjoyable fictional reads in my opinion. The sheer idea of having another world within a series of books is beyond anyone’s imagination, but one woman had a hint of inspiration which changed the world forever. Nonetheless, the books were a success as you were immersed into the “world of wizardry” with Harry going on his adventures. This sense of immersion helped me to add depth within my writing and as I read more of these books I noticed that my vocabulary had increased too. I could understand what I was reading to a certain extent and as I look back on my early grade school years it is truly amazing how a child who reads can develop their brain to learn new things without even realizing
