I believe there can be multiple lessons learned from the Vellus case. One of the biggest lessons I would have to say would be exploring the market, if you are able to explore different markets to find the best one suitable for your company you will be able to have a higher chance to succeed. Another lesson is all about relationships. Doherty stated “relationships are very important for successful exporting. She went out of her way to meet and talk with her consumers and buyers to help them that goes a long ways helping both parties it’s a win win” (Hall Page 507). Like I talked about up above the company was able to to grow and expand due to the help it was able to get from government assistance. They learned many different ways to go about working with different buyers doing background checks before dealing with them to know if they are reliable or not. Just have to do your homework when wanting to branch out like exporting goods. So short story short get help when need it like Vellus was able to get to find new markets you can possible succeed in before just jumping on the first thing that comes
