The Velociraptor was a speedy, meat-eating, dinosaur that was typically six-feet long, two-feet tall, and around 45 pounds. The Velociraptor is also known as one of the most bird-like dinosaurs of its time. This dinosaur likely roamed the Earth from 86 to 70 million years ago towards the end of the Cretaceous Period.
In 1924, Henry Fairfield Osborn, then President of the Museum of Natural History, coined the name “Velociraptor” because of its ability to run and run fast, as well as its carnivorous diet it took in. There are two species of Velociraptor. The most typical is the V. Mongoliensis and the newly-introduced, V. Osmolskae, which was only found and identified in 2008.

In popular-culture, Velociraptors are known to the public for their role played in Jurassic World. A fun fact about the movie, however: As I mentioned earlier, the Velociraptor was covered in feathers, and not scales like in the movie, Jurassic World. Velociraptors also only stood two-feet tall, unlike in the movie where they look a lot larger than human life, whereas they are actually smaller than many young children. In fact, the raptors in the movie were actually modeled after a slightly-larger dinosaur, Deinonychus, which is a relative to the Velociraptor. Getting into the physical aspects of the Velociraptor, as stated earlier, this dinosaur stood at only two-feet tall, which was much smaller than the movie’s representation. A typical Velociraptor was actually only about as tall as a large chicken. The Velociraptor had a unique s-curve in its body, stretching from the bottom of the body to its head. The head of a Velociraptor was an egg-shape, spanning around nine-inches long. This dinosaur had thin legs to allow for quick-running to catch prey, and whatever else it needed. It had three-inch long claws on its hind-feet that were used to stab and and disembody any prey in its sight. Those hind-claws had talons on the second toe of each foot, which remained facing upwards so as to not let prey escape their grasp. The Velociraptor was notorious for sneaking up on prey and attacking. It would then withdraw to a safer distance and wait while its victim bled to death. After the prey was dead, the Velociraptor would move back in on its prey. This strategy was also used by the Saber-Tooth

In the new movie "Jurassic world" scientists created a hybrid dinosaur. A hybrid is an organism composed of different kinds of DNA, for example a mutt. The scientists added DNA from different organisms to create a tourist attraction like no other but they didn't realize there would be consequences. The "indominus Rex's" DNA is based off the DNA of a Tyrannosaurus rex. Tree frog genetics were then added to help it adjust to tropical climates however the indominus Rex picked up the ability to hide it's heat signature.…

Michael Crichton wrote the original “Jurassic Park” and Steven Spielberg captivated us with the 1993 Blockbuster that has turned into an impeccable franchise (Anderson, 2015). At ten years old, I merely went to see the movie a dozen times before my parents no longer would give into my paleontology obsession. “No one’s impressed by a dinosaur anymore,” are the lines expressed by park manager, Claire, in “Jurassic World” (Anderson, 2015). The franchise has spawned a mega-brand that has like any other, experienced highs and lows. Did I mention “Jurassic World” was just named the #3 highest-grossing film of all time, by Newsday (2015).…

The creature that is being examined in this experiment is the now extinct Spinosaurus aegyptiacus, a dinosaur that lived in Northwestern Africa about 95 million years ago. The Spinosaurus (fig.1) was a creature that has been estimated to be anywhere from 13 to 18 meters (43 to 60) long, weighed 7 to 9 tonnes (8-10 tons), and is agreed to be by most paleontologists the largest carnivorous dinosaur of all time. It is thought to be a piscivore, although the Spinosaurus’ diet and lifestyle is very controversial. It was named in 1915 by the German paleontologist Ernst Stromer. It lived in North Africa, from the Bahariya Formation in Egypt to the Kem Kem Formation in Morocco.…

However, the author wants the audience to see how the dinosaur means clutching onto big childhood aspirations. Furthermore, hugging it tight and protecting it so it does not become extinct and just something one reads about in the past. The audience can see that black boy holding the gun as if he has no time for dreams and therefore cannot worry about those kinds of thing.
