Most parents make decisions to keep their children safe but it is often perceived by the child as them being mean and will often act irrationally. For example, a twelve year old wants to go to a college party but the parent does not allow it due to influence of drugs and alcohol, being told “no” may cause the child to act irrationally and try to sneak out. In a similar situation, Peter and Wendy from Ray Bradbury’s “The Veldt”, was told by their parents that they weren't allowed to take a rocket to New York. This started the children’s rebellious behavior. George made the situation worse by restricting the freedom of choice by telling them that they can’t imagine the African veldt because of all the gory. He later locks up the nursery which is what made the children lure their parents into the nursery and have it kill them. A past generation of family can cause issues for the next generations, such as in The Interlopers. Gradwitz and Znaeym were burdened by their grandparent’s quarrel which forced them to hate each other without any reason other than their grandfathers hated each other. The two refused to talk to each other because they hated each other so much that they wanted to kill each other. Although most people have freedom, some people around the world still don’t have freedom or wish to have more and most of these people are in impoverished countries. In today’s world, money can basically get you anything which is why so many people participate in a lottery. Likewise, in The Lottery Ticket,Dmitrich and his wife believe they have a really high chance of winning the lottery they entered, so they imagine all the things they could buy with the money. They imagined the freedom of not having to worry about debt and being able to buy a new house, go on vacation, etc. As Ivan said, “that’s not money, but power, capital”. George and Lydia from The Veldt were tired of their chores so they bought a fully automated house so they wouldn't have to do them anymore. It can be assumed that the “HappyLife Home” is very expensive but they bought it to have the freedom of not having to do anything. From both these stories, we can conclude that money can buy you
