Love requires many sacrifices, whether it be romantic or platonic it will that you shed blood to protect the many virtues that one may hold dear. The Gift of the Magi tells a story about a couple selling off their objects of such valor in order to buy a gift for the one who they love most but at the end they got rid of the objects that needed their partner’s already.The gifts were all in vain in a materialistic way, but it proved that the love they both had for each other was more valuable to them than any other gift could’ve been. A major sacrifice that has happened over years of play writing coming straight out of william shakespeare’s mind, developed a play that is known worldwide as Romeo and Juliet, It portrays two very wealthy families who are well known in the city of Verona Italy, As the play continues the reader will understand that the two families are actually in a feud with each other to settle who is the most powerful family around, whilst this ensues a young man, Romeo, falls in love with a young girl named juliet at a party, what is important about this is that they come from the two rival families and soon the situation gets very fierce and complicated. Romeo and Juliet had to give up their lives to be able to stay and run away together. At the end, it was all in vain, through the countless losses both sides had suffered such as Romeo’s best friend Tibbet dying and Juliet’s brother being killed vin redemption by Romeo, in this star crossed endeavor the couple had met a tragic end in their own hands which was the epitome of irony since they were willing to sacrifice even their lives for each other if one couldn 't
