The average pediatrician in the United States has an average annual wage of $192,000. Becoming a pediatrician, is not an easy path. Most pediatricians, according to the College Foundation of North Carolina are investigative, and social. Their values for the job include, independence, recognition, achievement, and support along with other values. Pediatricians work with children 100% of the time, and to become a pediatrician, one must have the patience, and love to be able to care for the children. Those qualities are found easily, and because of that all one must do is take the course, by finishing the course, one can help the children out and live a financially stable life (“CFNC.org - Career Profile”). A pediatrician stays inside the whole day, one will not get much sunshine unless you are on break. One must be standing up most of the time, either talking to patients, giving orders, and or prescribing medicines. One can sit down throughout the day, but having appointments after appointments make it very difficult to stay seated in one place. Pediatricians are exposed to illness, diseases, and infections all of the time. Due to being severely exposed, they wear protective wear and protective items throughout the day to help prevent the contamination. Their duties include, but not limited to; examining children throughout the day regularly, lifting sometimes up to twenty pounds, and prescribing any medications needed for the patient’s wellbeing (“CFNC.org - Career Profile”). These working conditions and activities are not as stressful as the background and education needed, although if one is a beginner it might take a while to get used …show more content…
For example, a physician, which is almost the same thing except physicians are not limited to caring for children. They are dedicated to promote, maintain and restore human health. They give out instructions to their coworkers on the care of their patients, and prescribe medications necessary for restoration of their health (“CFNC.org - Career Profile”). One of the many subspecies under this field is a Hematology and Oncology Pediatrician. Along with a physician, they also promote, maintain, and restore health, but these pediatricians, are more focused on diagnosing, evaluating, and treating children with blood and cancer diseases. They are specialists in treatments including, but not limiting to; chemotherapy, radioactive implants, stereotactic surgical techniques, and many others! They help treat diseases like leukemia, anemia, brain tumors, coagulopathies, cancers of childhood and adolescence, along with many more ("Hematology and Oncology").
