As the daughter of a single mom from a large family in an upcoming community, I have learned much about hard work and the opportunities I have been given because of the people who have came before me. Everyday, I watch my mother work endlessly and strive to give me more than her parents ever could for her. Although my mom will be able to support me emotionally in my journey through college, there is a lot of physical support that I will need to create on my own. Many of my peers have advantages set up for them ahead of time, while I have only a year of minimum wage work under my belt.
