To be loyal to someone or something may be hard at times, but in the end it will pay off. In the Odyssey, Odysseus is tempted by the trickery and the sorcery of the beautiful woman. He told his wife that he would come home, and he wasn't going to break that vow. Today people don't always follow through with their words. A lot of the time, people are depending on that person to do what they said they would, and when they aren't loyal to there word, they eventually lose faith and trust in you. Just as Odysseus had to have courage to defeat the cyclops, today people need courage to do what right, and speak up for their cause. Odysseus did the right thing in leading his crew to safety with the cyclops, and a lot of the time, people are not willing to have that courage to do the right things, because they are afraid that they may look bad, or they are just too afraid to stand out. In some schools bullying can be a big problem. People know it goes on, and they don't do anything about it. They dont have the courage to stand up for what is right.
