Recently, there is a hot topic that whether it is necessary for young people to have a college degree. As Los Angeles Times reported on 13 January 2010, the Obama’s education agenda declared that they expect American children not only to graduate from high school, but also to graduate from college and a high-paying job. (Rustigan)” That is to say, in light of Obama’s education agenda, college degree plays a crucial and significant role in the development of students. Similarly, a large number of young people also take the affirmative attitudes to the necessity of having a college degree. As mentioned above, the various expenses of college education are quite expensive, it doesn 't make sense to spend so much money and time if people are not sure of their path. In the present day, there are lots of people to attend college just because they should, but not they want. It is meaningless and worthless for them to spend expensive costs to attend college. In today 's college, the only things for some students do in college every day are sleeping, playing mobile phone in class, and having a romantic relationship with others. According to the authoritative data, only 33.6% of all 85,949 students could be qualified graduate from college after four years (New York Public Colleges). Not only do these students spend much unnecessary expenses, but also waste their valuable time at the most extent. As a matter of fact, in addition to college education, there are also many alternatives to get success. People who behave poorly in school does not mean they would fail in life. There are a large number of people who are more suitable for other alternatives rather than learning knowledge via tedious textbooks. On one hand, for those people who really could not adapt to college education, there are many other such good alternatives as community colleges, vocational school and online education with the purpose of accomplishing the goal of education. People could choose the most suitable ways for themselves. On the other hand, maybe some people have talent on other fields such as business, sports activities, and literary and artistic activities.
