Nowadays almost all good paying jobs require a degree of some sort. To get the degree it is common knowledge that one must go through a good amount of stress trying to get the best grades possible to get the best job. According to the article “Sources of Stress Among College Students” in the CVCITC Research Journal the top three reasons for stress in college are finances, lower grade than expected and increased worked load(Bulo and Sanchez 21). The idea of how much stress these three thing can put on someone makes many believe that college is not worth the stress. For most college is not year round, and is not every day. The stress that is packed on during the school year is like training for future jobs. Most jobs are not smooth sailing and do not always go as planned. Not that making mistakes is encouraged, but making a mistake during college has less of a repercussion than making one during a career job. For most college is the first time living away from family and living alone. The thought of not relying on parents is a refreshing and exciting idea for someone just out of highschool. After about a month or so without parents one could start to realize how much they actually use to depend on their parents. With trying to figure out how to live alone it is found pretty quick of what you should and should not do like it’s better to budget your paycheck instead of spending it at the bar. If a college student is broke at the end of a fun night a call or two to their parents might just save them. Parents tend to feel more sympathy towards a college student so it is easier to ask for a quick bail out. Working and moving out right after highschool and having the same experiences the parents are probably going to say something like “You know how much you make learn to spend it wisely. Sucks for you” and then stuck being broke until next payday. Another lesson that can be commonly found in college is not turning in an essay or missing a lab report which will only get a points reduction on the grade, however not doing a report for work could end up costing a job.
