They usually use the arts as a another form of communication. This can mean that they create art that can have a message and occasionally a challenge. When it comes to being a preacher they need to be aware of many things and have the ability to craft arguments that can engage someone with a person who isn't a Christian. Today, much of the younger generation mirror celebrities rather than preachers. Turner gives us an example of a time where he saw Bob Dylan in concert. Dylan started saying things like get ready, wake up, and serve the Lord. The audience didn’t like this at all. All they wanted to hear was his old material the music that they came to hear in concert. Because of this people started walking out. They didn’t want to hear these kinds of things while they were at a concert. Everyone has a different worldview and believes in different religions. There is a relationship between art and propaganda. In church this can raises questions. Some people argue that it is appropriate and reasonable to use a song or a book as a type of sermon. Art can be used to change people's opinions. Art can be used in a few different ways. The book mentions two ways of using art. It can be used to persuade and to create from passion. Art does not always need to have a point or a story to tell. We need to learn to not just write about good things that happen in our lives. We need to face reality and talk about the bad things that happen whether it be in music, writing, or photography. Artist can work in any type of art form and create things that are not considered religious. It is alright to do things that are not considered Christian because God gave us voices to speak or sing and hands to write whatever we like. We were created to use what gave us to his
