The author uses figurative language to help readers understand what is occurring in a written piece, they use forms such as similes, metaphors or hyperboles. There are many types of figurative language, such as onomatopoeia and alliteration. In chapter one the author uses figurtive language 'boom-boom-boom-twelve licks". The sound of the clock is repesenting that it is 12 midnight. the author used sound affect so that the reader could imagin it in their mind as they are reading and know what it sound like. Another figuartive languge qoute in chapter one is " wind was trying to whisper something to me", this is personifation it is giving the wind human like qualites to whisper to huck. The author also used figurative language in chapter 2 .
