We have reached a time in life where our technology has increased explosively. We now have robots that manage hotels, work cash registers, cars that drive themselves, drones used to deliver packages. Drones have been on the uprise for a while now, with complications from here and there. The thing is, are they good to use for war? Seeing and hearing some of the things that drones have done has me kind of a far from saying that they should be used in warfare. One of the things that first comes to mind is all the unnecessary deaths. Drones may be claimed to have the most accurate strikes so far, but can we really believe that? For sure it’s not going to be as great as we are told, like some tools or some form of technology with the guarantee to be awesome. “ ….drone operators are not always certain of who they are killing “despite the administration’s guarantees of the accuracy…” (Source K). Not as many soldiers will be killed because it will be the drone replacing them to fire upon enemies and scout out unknown areas. This will save lives, but cost loads of money. Something else is that if they need to investigate an enclosed tight area that no human can get through, then drones will come in handy. Using drones to threaten enemies to get information out of them could be easier than torturing them, but will be seen as heartless cruel. At least they won’t be dead, just terrified. A good example of this is a political cartoon reading in the word bubble, “This is president Obama speaking….I’ve got good news and bad news….The good news is: you won’t be waterboarded…” (Source D).
