An estimation in 2004 said that americans nearly spent 20.3 billion in all kinds of dietary supplements. The use of dietary supplements is common among the U.S. population. Over 40 % used supplements in 1988-94 and over one half in 2003- 2006. The most used supplements are multivitamins and multiminerals. Approximately 40 % of men and women reporting use of these two supplements in 2006.
You 're body needs to have vitamin D to absorb calcium and promote bone growth. By using vitamin d your body will have the proper calcium your body needs and it will improve your bone growth. If your body lacks on having too little vitamin D then it results in soft bones for children and misshapen in bones for adults other known as osteomalacia. The use of this pill increased from 1988-94 then again from 1999- 2002. for men and women in most age groups.

Vitamin D is almost in every food you eat. It is added in dairy products, juices, cereals, mackerel, sardines, and tuna. Some people use it for skin conditions like vitiligo scleroderma, psoriasis, actinic keratosis, and lupus vulgaris. Some of the side effects when taking vitamin D are urinating more than usual,chest pain, feeling short of breath, muscle pain, and vomiting. All age groups had similar rates of supplemental vitamin D use in 1988–1994 for both men (approximately 24%) and women (approximately 30%).
