The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald was published in 1925 and was one of the most popular non-fiction novels in America. Fitzgerald begins the novel by introducing Gatsby as mysterious character who’s very rich, and enjoys throwing huge parties. The novel is viewed during 1920’s time era because during the economic boom the rate of wealthy people was increased and attending parties was very popular, which is demonstrated in the novel by Gatsby constantly inviting people to his parties. In addition, the setting takes place in World War time period, based on Nick’s conversation with Daisy: "We don't know each other very well, Nick...even if we are cousins.
